Hi-Yield Accounts
Fed is meeting on Tuesday and despite all speculations surrounding Fed's
move after Hurricane Katrina and rising oil price, we can reasonably
predict that Fed will hike the short term interest rate by 25 basis point
again. As has happened in past few months, we may see rise in rates of
term deposits too in coming months. So, it is not time yet to go for
purchasing a long-term (more than 6 months) Certificate of Deposit (CD)
and lock in your money. Rather than doing that, you may put your money
to work in one of the following accounts with lucrative rates and enjoy high
yield and security of your cash:
MyBankingDirect is giving 3.75% in Money Market Account with minimum
deposit of $5000. They are also giving $25 bonus for opening a new account.
MetLife is giving 3.50% in its Money Market Account with minimum deposit
of $5000. They are also giving $50 bonus for new accounts.
Emigrant-direct's rate for savings account is 3.50%.
Ing-Direct's rate is 3.30%.
